In a book, editing is critical. If your book doesn't have good grammar or a stable flow, there's a big chance your reader will stop reading halfway. We as authors, never want that. That's why editing is essential.

The grammar in a book is very important because when you're reading, you tend to notice the mistakes than actually be able to concentrate on what's going in the story.

As for the storyline plot, it has to be mapped out nicely. Get the readers attention at the beginning, keep them reading, guessing and have them contempt with the ending. Details are super important, so make sure to keep those in mind and present at all times, but not too much detail either.

Naming Your Book
As well as your cover, your book needs a good title. The title normally sums up what your book is about, or at least has something to do with it.

A title that draws attention needs to be short and to the point. Don't make it too long, because it makes it harder to say and remember. You want people to recommend your book, and having a long title makes people not want to repeat the extremely long title.

A good title mostly has 2-3 words, 4 as a maximum. Say that your book is about a young girl that goes through a lot in life, a simple title could be Not Always Easy or Formidable, which is a synonym for difficult.

Be creative! This is what being an author is all about! Besides, you're the one in control. It's all up to you.

The phrase goes, "Don't a judge a book by its cover..."

That is key though. The first thing that a reader will see is your cover. If that cover isn't interesting, then most likely, your reader will put it back down and browse for another book. You'll need a cover that not only grasps attention, but also has something to do with your story.

A simple tip, don't overload your cover with a bunch of pictures of celebs. The simpler the better.

P.S: You also have to think about if you want to add your name or, even better, be creative and make a pseudonym! (secret name)
